Day 01 : Delhi / Jaipur
Morning pick up in Delhi. After that drive to Jaipur (250 kms / 5.30 hrs
drive).
Jaipur - the pink city of Rajasthan, Settled in the
rugged hills of the Aravallis, Jaipur is the pristine jewel in the desert
sands of Rajasthan. The city that once had been the capital of the royalty,
now serves as the capital city of Rajasthan. The very structure of Jaipur
resembles the taste of the Rajputs and the Royal family. This city is known
for its many palaces and forts, which are a major attraction for tourists to
Rajasthan.
On arrival Jaipur, transfer to hotel for relaxation. After that start your
city tour of Jaipur which comprises of visit to City Palace, Hawa Mahal and
Observatory.
City Mahal - built by Maharaja Jai Singh II. The
architecture of the City Palace is a synthesis of Rajasthani and Mughal
styles. The Complex comprises of many structures, courtyards, gardens and
buildings. There are many splendid small palaces and halls in the complex,
such as the Chandra Mahal, Mubarak Mahal and Badal Mahal.
Hawa
Mahal - Hawa Mahal or Palace of Wind was built by Maharaja Sawai Pratap
Singh in 1799 AD. This five storeyed palace made of red and pink sandstone
has a number of tiny windows, arched roofs and balconies is a great example
of Rajputana architecture. This was purposely made for ladies of royal
families to watch royal processions and various activities in the streets
while seated behind the small windows.
Observatory - Jantar mantar (or Observatory) is one of
Jai Singh's five remarkable observatories. Constructed with stone and marble
its complex instruments whose ettings and shapes are precisely and
scientifically designed represent the high points of Medieval Indian
astronomy. The Ram Yantras used for gauging altitudes are unique in their
isolation. this is the largest of the five observatories founded by Sawai
Jai Singh-II in various parts of the country.
» Day 02 : Jaipur / Delhi
Morning visit Amber Fort - encircled by the pristine Maota lake &
enveloped by lush green hillocks stands the majestic Amer Fort. 11 km from
Jaipur, overlooking the Delhi-Jaipur highway, the fort used to be abode of
the Kachchwala rulers, 7 centuries before Jaipur was built. Then proceed to
Delhi.
Afternoon return back to Delhi.
